Between January 19-29, 45 Ilim College students from the Dallas Girls’ and Boys’ campus journeyed to the sacred lands of Makkah and Medina to perform the Umrah pilgrimage. While students learn about the Umrah and Hajj in their Islamic Studies classes, the journey affords them the opportunity to profoundly experience the transformative power of Umrah and connect with other students and pilgrims from around the world. It also allows students particularly in Year 12 to finish their schooling chapter with an unforgettable spiritual experience that we pray strengthens their faith-identity and develops a deeper appreciation for the beauty of Islam.
