Welcome to the Ilim College Website. 

Ilim College is a co-educational school catering for students from Prep to Yr-12 VCE. It is a College which values diversity and cultural differences. We have students from different nationalities and we value the richness derived from this cross section of the Ilim College Community.

The College has a strong emphasis on the development of each individual student’s learning potential through challenge, reflection, thinking and learning experiences. The welfare of students is our high priority as we believe children learn best when they feel safe and secure at the school. 

Ilim College is proud to offer eight key learning areas (English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Art, LOTE (Turkish and Arabic), Information Technology and Health and Physical Education). We offer challenging programs to Year 11 and 12 VCE students. We have Islamic and Quranic programs for all students at the College. We offer a range of extra -curricular activities such as Camps, Swimming, Leadership, Gymnastics, Islamic Enrichment Programs and Multi Sports Programs. Our values are respect, integrity, responsibility, harmony and love of learning. 

Our staff are fully committed to the development, individual interests and talents of the children at Ilim College. Teachers, students and parents work together to create a happy and safe environment for learning. 

Ilim College strives to provide the foundation for a successful future and provide an extensive and challenging educational curriculum and opportunities for all students to develop as unique individuals.

Mission Statement

Muslim parents know that a good Islamic Education is the best investment that they can provide for their children. Bearing this in mind, Ilim College, formerly known as Islamic College North Western Region, was established in 1995 to provide a sound Islamic education in a disciplined environment where the values of Islam are of primary importance. The aim of Ilim College is very simple; we seek to equip students with enough knowledge and confidence to put Islamic beliefs, values and morals into practice in their own lives.

At Ilim College, children are taught to be proud of their Islamic identity and be proud Australian Muslims. The College aims at the development of the whole person, intellectually, spiritually, socially, and physically and the development of individual talents and abilities. The College motto "Advance Through Knowledge" summarises the values we instil in our students. By attending Ilim College, all students benefit in their academic and spiritual progress and in the development of their self-esteem, in a caring educational and Islamic environment. All curriculum and extra curricula programs aim to:
- Provide the knowledge and skills required by students for their full participation in the affairs of the Australian and world community.
- Support Muslim families in the development of an Islamic consciousness in their children.
- Foster the development of Islamic manners and lover of learning in its students.
- Provide an avenue for the constructive involvement of the Muslim community in issues of education, training and community development.

Ilim College also recognises that the purpose of schooling in our current times is to shape and foster multidimensional citizens. It recognises that these citizens live in multicultural societies in a global world. The school philosophy reflects the values and beliefs that permit students to explore their potential to become these citizens, whilst strengthening their Islamic faith commitment. Ilim College school philosophy is also built on certain beliefs we hold about students and their environments in which we expect them to learn. We believe all children come to school with valuable potential. All children have things they can do and all learning experiences must begin from there. Our primary responsibility as educators is to recognise each child's potential and create learning pathways that allow this potential to blossom.

 

Islamic Education

At Ilim College of Australia, Qur’aan and Islamic Studies are the subjects that we most value as a life skill for our students. We see it as our school mission and responsibility to make sure that every student that graduates from Ilim College must know how to recite the Qur’aan fluently and must memorise the required surahs. Qur’aan recovery is the program that will be implemented in order to achieve this goal. How Qur’aan Recovery Works?

Class Support
Each class is assigned a teacher for Qur’aan throughout the year. The teacher’s role is to teach the whole class Qur’aan. However in every class, the level abilities in reciting Qur’aan differs greatly. During each Qur’aan lesson Ilim College will have support teachers aiding the Qur’aan Benchmarks for Secondary. History

Ilim College is grade prep to year 12 VCE co-educational Islamic school which was established in 1995 in the North Region of Melbourne. The College teaches all 8 key learning areas. The College is able to offer a broad dynamic curriculum that provides the opportunity to develop academic, practical, creative and sporting skills. We place a high priority on ongoing collaborative evaluation of college programs to meet the changing needs of students.

College’s motto “Advance through Knowledge” summarises the values it instils in their students. Learning is an active partnership between students, teachers and parents at Ilim College.
