Hakan Gunsay has been with Ilim College since its inception 1995 as a student and was one of the first graduates. He has undertaken various administritive roles such as IT Support, Promotions Coordinator and Business Management.
In 2008, he began his teaching journey as a specialist teacher and took on coordinations such as ICT Domain Coordinator, Daily Organiser, Timetabler and Senior Primary Coordinator.
Hakan has undertaken the role of Principal of the Doveton Campus in 2018.
Hakan believes education is a life long journey and that providing positive learning environments will bring out the potential students hold within them. He is passionate about having strong relationships with students, parents and teachers which would enable problems to be addressed effectively.
Primary Coordinator, Doveton Campus
Nishana joined Ilim College, Doveton Campus as a Curriculum Coordinator in 2018. She has previously worked as a classroom teacher for students from Years 7-12 at Minaret College and Mount Hira College; teaching a wide range of subjects such VCE Legal Studies, English, Humanities, Commerce and Islamic Studies.
As a curriculum coordinator she is actively involved in planning and conducting innovative and informative workshops on new ways of teaching. Her responsibilities involve collaboration with the Principle and other primary teachers in the development and implementation of the curriculum as well as the evaluation, purchase and in operation of texts, resources and technology into classroom instruction.
Nishana believes that irrespective of what subject is being taught, it is vital for teachers to create ideal learning environments where the skills of dialogue is placed at the centre of the learning process. Nishana values working with students, teachers and parents to establish the best possible foundations. She aims to inspire students using the best and most effective strategies available to them so that they find the learning material relevant and meaningful to their everyday lives.
Grade P-6 Well-Being Coordinator, Doveton Campus
Ismail has been in Education since 2008 in various roles, ranging from Primary Teaching and Leadership through to Secondary Teaching and Leadership. Currently at Ilim College Doveton Campus, appointed as Welfare Coordinator and Daily Organiser since 2017.
He believes that the wellbeing of students is central to maximising their success within the classroom and beyond. As Welfare Coordinator he works closely with students, parents and teachers to help students learn effectively and develop positive attitudes and behaviours to set them up for a successful future.
Ismail expresses that there is nothing better than having any of his students realise they’re stronger and more resilient than they ever thought possible.
